Releasing Kids from LOIs

I'm an old school guy and I believe you are only as good as your word.  And if you sign a contract (LOI) you should honor it.  This topic has been discussed on Ben's post about MB and GS asking out, but at this time it appears to be SOP to ALLOW kids to opt out, especailly if there is a coaching change. So, the question becomes should there be a requirement for kids to honor thier LOIs to the letter, or should there be a formal provision in the LOI to allow kids to opt out if there is a coaching change or another signficant event at the school where they signed up?
