It appears Gibbs will or has asked for a release of his LOI from Maryland. That doesn't mean they have to honor his request, but schools normally do after a coaching change. FWIW, this is coming from our friend Adam Zagoria, who falsely said both Gibbs and Faust wanted out of thier LOIs immediately after Gary retired, which we learned was not true, especially since Faust hadn't even heard of Gary's retirement when Zagoria published that story (which he never apologized for getting incorrect). If I had to guess, it's probably true - Gibbs knows who the coach is now, so he can actually make that decision properly. Honestly, if we lose Gibbs, I'm not that worried. Opens up another scholarship for 2012, which is a loaded class.
