I hope that business about Stoglin transferring if Ehsan isn't retained is just his high school coach talking and not actually Stog's position. I like the kid, but no player gets to dictate what coaches an HC hires, keeps or doesn't keep. If he thinks he's bigger than the program, the coaches or the AD, I have a problem with that. Pe'Shon and Gibbs are a couple of nice guards who would appreciate the extra opportunites. Pe' loves him some Maryland, I'm pretty sure. I doubt the HC's personnel decisions would stop him from loving being a Terp.
I'm aware this will not be a popular post or opinion, but when I first read that about Stoglin, it bothered me. If he loves Ehsan more than he loves the school that signed him, created him, supported him, and gave him a starting role as a freshman, then I don't know what to say other than don't let the door hit you ...
Again, though, I'm going to hope this was just a prep coach talking about stuff he had no business talking about, because I really like Stoglin's game. I'm a big fan of Ehsan too and sure hope he stays, but he's a hot commodity whose profile has risen dramatically now because of this transition. It won't be long before somebody hires him away now that we've got a younger new coach, and when that happens the scholarship athletes should congratulate Ehsan and wish him luck -- and then proudly remain at Maryland.
