Final Rivals 2011 Prospects Rankings - Faust (48) and Breunig (137!)

Stay connected for news and updates

Rivals released its final top 150 rankings for 2011 (rising freshmen) basketball prospects.  Two Maryland signees made the cut.  Not surprisingly, Nick Faust made the top 50; he came in at 48 with a four star ranking.  What is a bit more intriguing is that Martin Breunig popped up on the list at 137 with a three star ranking.  (Note: Desmond Hubert came in below him at 140!)  Sterling Gibbs didn't make the list.

Personally, I think expectations should be set for Breunig at a level comparable to what Hawk contributed last year, but maybe Martin can surprise on the upside.  Based on his size, he will likely be pressed into immediate action because of Maryland's thin front court.  On the whole, though, good to see Terps prospects getting some love.  It will be funny to see if Breunig and Hubert end up going head-to-head.  Broo over Hu all day every day!
