Cliff Tucker hurts the team five times for every one time he does anything even remotely positive. Even that 5-1 ratio might be generous. It's time to bury him on the bench and give all his minutes to Hawk and Pe' and a few here and there to Parker (!!) -- could he really be worse than Tucker is playing? Yes, Tucker's a senior, but he got a fair chance to start and lead the team, I'd say more than fair actually, when you think about how bad he's been game after game after game. He shouldn't have started last night but he did, and he was awful. I always liked Tucker. He seems to have a good humble attitude, he loves the program and he's very fun to watch on those very rare occasions that he's playing up to his abilities. But it's time to move on now. We probably aren't going to make the tourney, and even if we do make a run through the ACC Tourney and slide in to the NCAA, the law of averages says we won't be around for long.
Maryland is a young team, not a senior team. So, the future is now, as sad as that is to say for a 4-year guy like Tucker. He's had his chance. It's time to move on.
