Whittington/recruiting

I saw that Whittington and Georgetown have mutual interest, to the extent that Whittington volunteered a Hoya reference directly into a quoted answer to a question about Maryland. It's in an article I'm not going to link or reference because it's not free content. Anyway, I say let him go to Georgetown. I don't think he's dominating his local opposition the way a 6-foot-9 Div. 1 athlete should, and I worry about the recurring reports that say he gets timid in stretches. If you're timid in HoCo, you're going to be very timid in the ACC. Mychal Parker was a much higher-touted recruit and he's apparently not ready for the level of play, so Whittington scares me.

I say focus all of our attention first and foremost on Hubert, who has a big-time AAU pedigree and an ACC-ready skill set in terms of rebounding and defense. He's long, athletic and from the video interview I saw appears to be bright and humble with a good work ethic. I was very surprised at his weak polling on this site a few days ago, because other than Faust I think he's far and away our most game-ready target.

Target No. 2 should be Breunig, who is much more intriguing to me than Whittington for reasons many have referenced already.

And, Target No. 3 should be Judge -- who I have a question about. I saw him as one of the four options on our poll, but I'm wondering why we're limited to two if Judge is included. Since he wouldn't be eligible in 2011, wouldn't he technically be a 2012? So couldn't we get Judge AND two others?

In any case, Whittington wants to be courted and play a waiting game and drop G-town references to Maryland reporters, so in my opinion, he should be a safety-net option only or we should roll over the scholly.
