Tons of news on twitter today about MD bball targets. While my last post could be a bit of a reach based on the comment Ben found from Dave Telep, I know this kid Im posting about is not a reach. Enjoy the bmore sun article on Daxter Miles.
Highlights from the article:
The reasons for Miles’ departure from Baltimore were simple. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard wanted to focus more on academics and get more exposure for his game. Miles said both goals have been accomplished so far.
Miles said he’d like to hear from Syracuse, but of the schools that are currently recruiting him, Maryland and Miami stand out. The East Baltimore native said he thinks the Terps are “about to offer.”
“Maryland, they’re doing their job as far as recruiting,” Miles said. “They say they definitely need me. They need a guard that’s got my potential.”
Terps assistant coach Bino Ranson is the point man for Miles’ recruitment, while head coach Mark Turgeon is also involved.
“I mean that’s showing you that they’re really looking forward and they’re trying to get you if the head coach gets involved,” said Miles
Miles said he likes living in Florida, but admits that he misses living in Baltimore. His parents certainly wouldn’t mind if he ended up back on the East Coast – be it at Maryland or somewhere else within driving distance.
“I just feel it in the air, the coldness of the weather,” Miles said. “It just feels like home.”
Another PG option for 2013. I cant help but to think that we are serious about Daxter. If Turge and Bino have visited him something is up. While the Syracuse thing kind of scares me, the good news is that they havent made contact yet and right now his favorites are MD and Miami but you can read it for yourself.... he misses home and it sounds like being able to have his family watch him is important. All arrows point to MD if we offer.
