Not surprisingly for this point of the season (or pre-season), everyone is coming out with their college basketball rankings. Also not surprisingly, no one is including the Terps in their Top 25. But in three different publications, Maryland sits in vastly different positions.
As bball purist posted ealier, Ken-Pom has been the most generous, rating the Terps 47th in the country (http://kenpom.com/).
ESPN has the Terps in the 67th position (http://assets.espn.go.com/pdf/2011/1103/1114TEAMSX.pdf).
Rivals recently released it's rankings, and have the Terps in 108th place (http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1288778).
We've seen one exhibition game, and we know that Alex Len will serve a 10-game suspension. We also know Pe'Shon Howard will probably not be available until January. Given what we know - and the rating services likely didn't know - where should Maryland really be ranked, and how does that bode for their post-season aspirations?
