Recruiting, Maryland Fans(Haters) and the Roller Coaster of 2011 continues

After November 29th came and went, Maryland stands no closer to returning to excellence on the field or hard court. As everyone already knows Nate Britt is a Tar Heel, not a shocker considering since age 11 he wanted to be one and Stefon Diggs apparently doesnt know his own top 8. Didnt Diggs just cancel his trip to Auburn for the Iron Bowl and everyone said Auburn is no longer a contender, but they make the top 8??? That's shows how much of a shot the 2-10 Terps really had with Diggs. Oh yeah and after a promising start the Men's Bball team fell down the stretch to Illinois by 9 last night.

All in all this is one of the single worse days this year and we've had our fair share. So what does this mean??? First off, I have said it countless times that the recruiting services are speculation at best. Don't argue this, you would have to be naive as hell to think that people ranking and guessing on where a kid is going to play is simply that, a guess.

So let's hear it that Edsall should be fired or hopefully he takes another job. Remember recruits can read these boards just as you and I can. So if the majority or even a minority of Maryland fans want there coach gone recruits can see this. Also, dont you think a recruit would want to come to Maryland because fans SUPPORT there teams, which would include coaches and players both! BTW, chanting Nate Britt sucks on National TV just shows top recruits that they should go elsewhere. Oh yeah I'm sure that scare tactic will get the Harrison Twins to commit so everyone watching ESPN won't hear the 85 students chanting they suck as well when they go to UK.

Seriously, Maryland needs to get their collective shit together in order to turn this around. From KA to you and I. Terps and Terp fans need to support this University not hate on it. Just think if the Troops over in Afganistan and Iraq decided to go against the USA and Obama because of the War and their difference of opinion??? Things would turn pretty damn ugly for the USA. So why can't Terp Nation see the writing on the wall??? We need to curve our expectations to what the situation is right now in College Park. We have two rookie coaches in our major revenue sports, inheriting extremely thin rosters, also adding injuries and suspenions make the roster even thinner. Things haven't turned out as every fan hoped which is two undefeated seasons with two Natty's. But this is not the end of the world. Keep cursing Maryland and its coaches and its lack of prominent recruiting and anything and everything in between, then you will have something to cry about when Maryland is in the bottom of the ACC due to lack of SUPPORT!!!

My conclusion on this post. 2011 will be over in a month, 2012 could get worse, but realistically shouldn't in respects to Maryland Football and Basketball. Turgeon is a highly respected coach that has an all-star coaching staff and has landed a recruiting class that is the highest rated class in over a decade. They have 7 scholarship players competing right now, so please don't expect us to cut down the nets, a 12-18 record is likely and should be expected. Edsall is our coach, like it or not. He may leave, he may quit, he may turn it around and WIN??? Regardless until something else happens he will be out recruiting, selling, teaching, coaching the Maryland Terps Football team! So it would be nice to say if we as fans support him and his team things may turn around. Remember expectations are different then reality, curve them and it wont be as bad.

BTW I was not comparing NCAA sports to War and not comparing athletes to soldiers, just being proactive with this one before someone wants to go all Kellen Winslow on me.

I'll leave you with this. WISH FOR THE BEST, PREPARE FOR THE WORSE AND IT ALWAYS FALLS SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN. GO TERPS, FEAR THE TURTLE!
