My 1st Fan Post (this was actually a comment to El Goodd post, but thought it deserved its own post).
Is it possible Edsall actually is satisfied, maybe even happy, with the year his team is having? (maybe even nudging in the direction of a terrible year). Think about it. Edsall knows they will not be able to get rid of him for 3 or 4 years at a minimum (barring NCAA major infraction or similar). After this year, he has a much higher probability of improving team results year after year. A coach never really has to worry about finishing out his contract (maybe even contract extension) if his teams continually improve. It would be MUCH harder to do that starting with a benchmark of the 2010 season. But with the disapointing 2011 season, it makes it much easier to improve year after year, and extend his term as head coach at MD for a longer time before potential disapointment sets in with the fan base. Edsall just may be a genius (albeit a diabolical genius).
What do you think?
