Football Recruiting Update

There have been a lot of Maryland sightings the past couple of days and I thought I would share this info and see if anyone had anything new to add on these topics.

Mr. Maryland, Jalon Tabor picked up an offer from UVA, but will have offers from everyone in Division 1. Hopefully his love for MD remains.

Stefon Diggs is reportedly going to narrow his list to 7 within the week. After hearing how much his family likes Edsall and Maryland overall, not to mention Diggs being from MD, I would have to imagine MD would be in his final 7. But a 2-8 season and a lot of negativity from some players may knock us out.

Eddie Goldman, the #2 overall prospect in the 2012 class, has been in a holding pattern on his recruitment. Eddie has only taken one official visit and that was FSU, which is reportedly his overwhelming favorite. We will see if MD gets some love from the big man.

Defensive tackle/tight end Henry Poggi and athlete Wyatt Dickerson visited Maryland for the Notre Dame game this weekend. Poggi has several scholarship offers and figures to be one of the top prospects in the 2013 class from the mid-Atlantic region. "It went well," Poggi stated in a text message. "I liked the uniforms." Got to love the uniform love, hopefully this leads to a Maryland-Gilman connection.

Continuing the Gilman trend, current Penn State commit and top 150 OL Brian Gaia, will not talk about the Penn State commitment, he is waiting on some things to play out. He has mentioned that Maryland amoung a couple others have been getting involved since the scandal.

Vanderbilt made a strong impression with receiver Ian Thomas from Reistertown (Md.) Franklin. "Great people here," Thomas stated in a text message to ESPN during his official visit. "I feel like a necessity. I feel like what the coaches were saying was really genuine." Thomas also has scholarship offers from Rutgers, Iowa, Maryland, Virginia and Notre Dame. I hope Franklin doesnt grab him from MD, this would only frustrate MD further with letting Franklin go.

Adam Breneman (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) has witnessed some of the best game day atmospheres in college football this season. He was at Maryland’s opener against Miami. Adam is a top 150 TE and may be a good option for Maryland, since he seemed to be a PSU lean before the scandal. He did attend the game on Saturday vs. Nebraska.

Sorry for the back to back posts, but I thought this would be a good update for all on who the football team is being mentioned with still. If anyone has any more info, past it on.

GO TURGE, ROLL TERPS.
