Prediction: DOB stays at Maryland next year

Long time (well, year+ anyways) reader, first time FanPoster.

Despite what many think, I actually believe that DOB will stay at Maryland.  I don't think this was as clear earlier on, but there seems to me to be a building of trust between DOB and Edsall.  Let's face it, Edsall and Crowton may not have handled him perfectly (they didn't), but at some point they were going to have to bench him.  Find me a coach who wouldn't when their QB is playing that poorly regardless of how good they played last year.

Early on in that process I thought the body language from DOB was grumpy and moody, but clearly its different now.  His body language seems to support the team no matter who is out as QB.  We've heard no rumors of bad blood between CJ Brown and DOB and there seems to be little evidence from the sidelines as well (actually I think they seem to get along quite well).  He seems to have accepted his role on the team and even embraced it.

Edsall's trust in DOB seems to be improving as well.  His 2nd half interception was absolutely an awful throw  and  I thought for sure that he'd be yanked immediately like he was in previous games for similar decisions/execution errors.  The mere fact that he started the next drive was telling to me.  Edsall trusted him and gave him another chance.  Granted he broke his arm shortly after, but that wasn't the point.  That he was even still out there is.

Let's also consider the fact that he's now been at this school for 3 years.  Granted he will graduate by all accounts making a switch easier, I loved this school after 3 years and would have had an incredibly hard time going anywhere else.  Who's to say he doesn't have similar feelings as a Terp?  He easily could have left last year and didn't.

The broken arm might even hurt his transfer chances as well.  Sure he had a great freshmen year, but the second year was lackluster and now he's coming off an injury.  How many DI schools are going to all but guarantee him a starting role next year?  I'm sure many would offer a back-up role, but he'd have that at Maryland as a minimum next year anyways.

So am I alone out there?  Or is there actually anyone else out there who actually thinks he'll be back next year?
