Given the struggles of this year's edition of Terp football, I can't help but wonder does anyone else think that James Franklin saw the writing on the wall and suspected that this year's team would be closer to the 2-10 team of 2 years ago than the 9-4 team of last season? He had something of a sweetheart deal here - either be given a head coaching spot in 2012 or cash a check for a cool million. He had a returning QB with whom he'd worked well and from all reports had a strong relationship to boot. And while he might have suspected that his top receiver would give up his last year of eligibility at the time he took the Vandy job he may have also had as much reason to believe he'd have a strong combination coming back. And come to think of it, I'd like to add tow more words: Don Brown?
