Just some food for thought ...
Checking the latest Sagarin Rankings, I found that Maryland is ranked #53. That happens to be the highest ranking of any team with a losing record.
What I found more interesting is the Terps' strength-of-schedule ranking.
Maryland's SoS is #5.
Higher than everyone other than Arizona, Texas A&M, Kansas and Texas.
Two of Maryland's opponents are in the top 15 and three of them are in the 30's. Towson, the FCS opponent, is ranked at #100 (11th-best FCS team), better than a couple dozens FBS schools.
In case you're wondering, Maryland's final SoS last year was #64.
