Its Friday - Lets Talk Basketball Recruiting - IM BACK

Midnight Madness is here. According to TheRecruitScoop, Sam Cassell JR will be on an official visit and Will Ferguson, Tevon Saddler, & John Crosby will also be taking visits (not official).

Here is a breakdown of all four players. We are all somewhat familiar with Cassell but the others are somewhat new to the game.

Sam Cassell JR: 6'4 PG, Baltimore, 88 overall CLASS of 2012

Will Ferguson: 5'11 PG, Arlington Va, 91 Overall CLASS of 2013

Tevon Saddler: 6'4 SF, Baltimore, CLASS of 2013

John Crosby: I am still looking for information on him and will update in a few minutes.

My overall thoughts: I am glad that Turge is showing interest to the elite local players and gaining interest from them early. The earlier we get involved the better positioned we are for them to want to come to MD. The last thing we need is for a player in our backyard to blow up and enter the recruiting game at the same time UNC, DUKE, PITT, and others enter the game.

I know that Ferguson already has interest from PITT and others. This kid is going to be a legit PG. We all know that Nate Britt has said UNC is his dream school and UNC just offered so I dont have very good feelings about Britt. The twins are well the twins. It is going to be tough to land them. Ferguson would be an amazing grab assuming we dont land the twins or Britt.

I dont know much about Saddler. Keep in mind that is is really early. This coming summer is what will define the 2013 players. Dont get caught up in the 3 star ranking at the moment. McGary was a fringe 100 player before this last summer and then shot all the way up to #3.

Exposure is key.

On another note, for all of you that rely heavily on ESPN to dictate who MD is involved with, ESPN updated their list to include Carter and others for 2012 and 2013
