This whole chaos that has ensued over the past few weeks makes me think of how similar it is to a situation where a guy is bored with his wife so he plans on running away with his mistress. It sounds like a great and exciting idea at first, but after thinking about it, he realizes it would be a pretty bad idea to carry through with.
Anderson really wanted Leach because he thought about how exciting it would be and how many tickets would sell. So he broke things off with Fridge in order to make room for Leach, however, he didn't do enough research beforehand. Something must've come up during the interview or after that the search committee really didn't like so he panicked and hired someone who is pretty much the opposite of Leach.
Bottom line: Anderson effed up, and ended up with a coach he didn't fire Fridge for.
Hopefully that makes at least some sense.
