So we are all a bit down after this past weekend's loss to Villanova. Seems like the Terps can't get over the hump against ranked teams. However, if you take a closer look, the remaining schedule for the Terps is quite favorable.
Here it is:
1/20 Virginia Tech
1/22 Clemson
1/27 @ Virginia
1/30 @ Georgia Tech
2/2 Duke
2/5 Wake Forest
2/9 Longwood
2/12 @ Boston College
2/15 @ Virginia Tech
2/20 N.C. State
2/23 Florida St.
2/27 @ North Carolina
3/2 @ Miami
3/5 Virginia
Out of the remaining 14 games, there are only 4 truly tough ones: VTech home and away (possibly fighting for last ACC slot in NCAA tournament); at Duke; and at BC. Florida State home, at UNC, and at Miami could be challenges, but are winnable. So maybe things aren't as bad as they seem. If the Terps go 9-5 for the rest of the season (including beating Duke at home), and win a couple of games in the ACC tournament, things are looking up for an at-large tournament bid. Also, the away win vs. Penn State and home win vs. Charleston don't look so bad now, given how those teams have fared since playing the Terps.
So buck up Terps fans, there is a lot to look forward to. This year's Terps might be who we thought they were, but that might not be that bad...
