Maryland Minute 9.3.10 - Terps Men's Soccer Falls in Opener to Michigan State
Terps Soccer Loses Opener to Michigan State, 4-3 in OT
Very emotional game. MSU tied it with less than a minute to go, then scored six minutes into overtime.
Don't worry too much; the game was close, and it's the second straight year Maryland lost their first game of the season. There's no doubt they'll be in it when it comes to the end of the season. Then again, four goals are a little problematic for Zac MacMath.
Oh, and it had to be Michigan State.
NCAA Soccer Preview - USA Today
It mostly focuses on Virginia, but Maryland's one of the teams to watch.
It all starts with goalie Zac MacMath for the Terrapins. He had seven shutouts and a 0.88 goals-against average for a team that reached the NCAA quarterfinals. Eight other starters return with senior forward Jason Herrick (nine goals in 2009) leading the attack.
Slightly jinx-y, I guess.
Kirby cuts it down to five, Maryland makes the list - ESPN
Queue the Porky Pig-esque "wh-wh-wh-wh-what?".
"I've got it down to five," said Kirby. "The five are USC, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina and Iowa."
Okay then. Dondi Kirby is a high-three star safety from Pennsylvania, but the offers are that of a four-star, national recruit. The offers are usually better than the rankings.
Rick Snider: Stoking the fire on an old grudge match - Washington Examiner
We need a true rivalry. I want some good old-fashioned hate.
Heather Dinich's Predictions: Navy 21, Maryland 20
I actually think that'll probably be pretty close.

You know what to do.
Vasquez the real victim in Grizz contract dispute - The Memphis Edge
If GV's going to be sharing time as Mike Conley's backup with veteran Acie Law, it's a little unreasonable to expect him to be an all-rookie selection. So why do the Grizz want him to be one?
Kyle Singler Undergoes Knee Surgery - FanHouse
He'll be back for the first practice, but I wouldn't really be all that upset if this injury proved to be lingering.

Scout has Kirby
with maryland and florida both with “high” status while the others are at “medium”
That would be an incredible coup
Believe that’s Lee Hull territory. He’s done really well at recruiting, I’d like to keep him aboard.
If Nick Faust is reading this...
please notice how Memphis is trying to screw over Greivis in his contract. situation. Avoid that town at all costs, it’s bad news, kid.
P.S. see you @ M & T on Monday, big fella.
Random question:
Does MD sell out soccer games? I am going to try to make it to one or two and was wondering if I could get tickets there or if I should buy them ahead of time. I am not sure how big the stadium is, so I wanted to check in. Thanks!
The stands will fill up for UVA, Duke, UNC, etc.
But you shouldn’t worry about buying tickets ahead of time because the bleachers generally don’t fill up until the game has already started.
Definitely come to a game…the atmosphere is unbelievable.
Thanks for the info. I am planning on coming to the Wake game at least. Do you think I can walk up for this game? Wake is a good team but I don’t think they would be as big a draw as the ones you mentioned.
I will have to see if I can make it to the UVA game. Those games were always fun.
Oooh.
Forgot to mention Wake. Consistently one of the top programs in the country and consistently fill up the stands.
Get there a half hour before and you’ll be alright. You can order online to be safe, but I don’t know if its worth it.
I'm an MSU alum and no matter the outcome on Friday...
I would wholeheartedly agree with you. One of the greatest atmospheres I have ever experienced in person. Really what a "college’ game should be like. You guys have a lot to be proud of with the stadium and your fanbase.
