Greivis Vasquez Drafted #28 by Memphis

PrintWell, a lot of people in College Park just became Memphis Grizzlies fans. The Grizzlies selected the ACC Player of the year in the first round with the #28 overall selection. When Greivis heard the news, he jumped up and started cheering, surrounded by his family. I don't think anyone selected tonight showed as much emotion and happiness as Greivis. He'll join Xavier Henry and Dominique Jones (just traded to Dallas) and will pair up with Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo.
I just became a Grizzlies fan. And I have a feeling I'm not the only one.
I'll have more on Greivis' selection tomorrow.

As a life-long Terp fan
who has resided in Memphis for the past four years, let’s just say I’m more than a bit delighted with the Grizzlies drafting Greivis.
Besides the Grizzlies’ inability to really play much defense last year, their biggest deficiency position-wise was PG. Conley is quick, but doesn’t run the offense well or shoot consistently. I’d be really surprised if GV starts at some point next season, but I think he’ll see his share of time on the floor.

I hate to use the term “epic” as it is tossed around a lot these days without any merit. But, my god. Was the general’s draft moment ever so Epic. I love you Greivis, ball on my man. Memphis is in for a real treat!
