Video: Nick Faust lights up the competition at the Nike Rose City Showcase
He lists Maryland as an offer, but also rattles off a slew of big name programs who are beginning to show interest. Oh, and national basketball writer Justin Young, tweeted this about Faust:
"Best player I saw at Rose City Showcase was Nick Faust from the Baltimore Elite team. Good player. Under-recruited IMO."
Terps need to lock up one of Faust, Jabari Brown, and Michael Taylor.
Also says he's looking for a coach that will push him. Don't think the staff has had too much contact with Deuce lately but boy, would he be fun to watch.
Nike Hoop Jamboree: Terp Target Daniel Ochefu Impressive
You might remember that Maryland targeted 2012 big man Daniel Ochefu awhile back. Apparently he was one of the more impressive players at Nike Hoops Jamboree:
Daniel Ochefu (Westtown, Pa./Westtown) 2012, C/PF, 6-9, 225 pounds Ochefu is a multiskilled post player. Offensively, he is a solid face up shooter with range to 15 feet. He can also score with his back to the basket on the block but prefers to face the basket to score. Ochefu is a good ballhandler, is comfortable with the ball in space and is an excellent passer. He is a good rebounder who is capable of grabbing a rebound and leading the break when the opportunity presents itself. Defensively, he is a good shot blocker and understands individual and team defensive concepts. Ochefu may be a surprise to some, but he is one of the better talents in the 2012 class.

Terrapins Insider interviews new Maryland assistant Bino Ranson
Nothing here was particularly mind-blowing, but there's some good information in there. Oh, and "Bino" comes from "the Great Bambino", Babe Ruth's nickname. Good to know. - BB

Virginia assistant confirms interview with Maryland (Lacrosse Search)
You gotta figure he's one of the favorites, right?
Drexel's Brian Voelker has not been contacted by Maryland
Cross that one of the list, which now consists of...uh...yeah. John Tillman, you're choice #1. - BB
Faceoff: Maryland reaches out to Harvard coach, John Tillman
Please hire Tillman. He's done great at Harvard considering their history. He also was responsible for their first winning season since 2002 and is a recruiting machine. Maybe not as good as a Tambroni in terms of resume, but he'd still be a pretty solid hire with knowledge of the area from his days at Navy. - BB
My Take: I'm not quite as high on Tillman as Ben B. Harvard isn't the easiest place to coach, but an overall record of 20-19 with 0 NCAA Tournament appearances isn't exactly overwhelming. Tillman wouldn't be a bad hire, I'm just a bigger Marc Van Arsdale fan. Of course, ND Head Coach Kevin Corrigan should be target #1, if he's even a possibility.
Recruiting Report: Weekend wrap
Apparently Nick Faust was the best player on the floor at the Nike Rose City Showcase in Portland. Get it done, Bino. - BB
