Why we lose out to some recruits
Almost all of the schools on the top 10 graduation rate list are private and almost all (or all??) of the schools on the worst list are public. I guess this proves the whole "private schools can set their own standards to attract recruits" notion, right? At least for the most part considering that there are some exceptions.

8%?
Uh, all 4 of our seniors this year are graduating. Didn’t we already debunk that that statistic was 10 years old?

Yeah man...get a grip and talk to me about numbers
that don’t include the national championship team!
Legal Action
The Athletic Department should consider legal action. This is libel. The university and athletics are damaged by this misleading report.
The fact of the matter is the UMCP is a MUCH more difficult school to again admission versus 25 years ago. Also, they should look at the overall graduation rates, which are above 77 percent as of 2006 and probably higher today. Back in the day (1980s), it was about 35 percent. Now, the average incoming GPA for freshmen is over 3.8, the average SAT is 1300. Back in the day, you were, by law, guarenteed admission with a 3.0 and 1000.
GO TERPS!
truth is a 100 percent defense
take it from me a law student…
what they are saying is technically true….it’s just spin…and stale, bad spin at that
plus i’m not sure it would help our PR to sue over this

I agree with everybody but
My point wasn’t to highlight the shady 8% statistic for MD.
It was mainly to highlight and support the argument made regarding public school versus private school admissions standards by looking at the top 10 best and worst schools as a representation of the larger picture. I have heard the argument made that MD has higher standards when compared to G town and other private institutions. That’s all this was about.
I say we win tomorrow and with a week to prepare, we have a chance against Kansas.
But you statistics...
are for the 2000 march madness teams, not the 2010 teams. Update your numbers, then we’ll talk

right
but standards are standards and private institutions are still able to adjust their standards with more flexibility. That doesn’t change.
WHOOPS
I meant a week to prepare for NORTHERN IOWA????!!!
we should go after
enes kanter, rivals called him similar to hansbrough with a better perimeter game.
The turk? I think
I hope this hurts Kansas recruiting but I doubt it.
