Ok, down 16 at the half

At the very least get back into it to secure a 6 seed, but 16 is far from safe. GT is shooting 75% from 3. MD is shooting 0%. You have to expect that to normalize at some point. Rebounds are probably a lost cause, but that’s not going to keep us from winning if GT can’t hit a shot for 9 minutes.

ok, what the hell's our seed now?

In one game as a freshman at Miami, Wieters hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to put the Yellow Jackets ahead, then pitched the bottom of the ninth for the save. On that day, the God nickname was bestowed. - Sports Illustrated

if we're "home" for the touney, we better be wearing gold.

Didnt we lose to Nc State in the firs round when we won the NCAA’s? just throwin that out there

by MurlandTerps on Mar 12, 2010 9:23 PM EST reply actions

well minus the 4 points the time out in the first half and the shot clock in the second half the score was pretty even. regardless…one of the worst played games ive seen all year…up there with the clemson game and pac-10 basketball

Selfish...

but i feel my whole weekend is ruined. Esp cause it’s going to rain and rain.

GRR. That sucked! Wanted to make GT eat their words!

I didn't want to post this before the game but

I was wondering if in the long run it may be good to get a loss before the Dance. Probably not, but sometimes (like the first half) we don’t look we are mentally into some of these games. Hopefully we come out hungrier next time.

meh hopefully. 6 seed sets us up for a good run if we end up there.

by nroop1 on Mar 12, 2010 9:28 PM EST up reply actions

I dont think this is a horrible loss.

Yes, we played like crap. Yes, we were rather lethargic. But we havent played in almost a week before this. And I’d much rather go into the NCAA tournament off a loss, than off a string of wins. Why you ask? Cause it makes us hungrier. Think about it this way; had we gone the whole way without a loss, we might have grown complacent in that the last time we loss was what? over a month before?

It sucks to lose, but I feel like it might be a blessing in disguise.

agreed

id rather go into the tourny with a chip off our shoulder rather than a feeling a sense of safety

by jschwar1 on Mar 12, 2010 9:32 PM EST up reply actions

Couldn't agree more

But this is another showing of how too much time off kills this team. Look what happened before the Duke game when the UVA game got cancelled, and look what happened here with the bye. Hopefully our success on short rest will help us in the dance.

hope so

it does suck to lose though!

GW has decided that we're going to live or die with Greivis

It’s obvious that GT wasn’t going to let him get a 3 off the dribble. We need a copy of new wrinkles that can get him open off the ball for a 3 in late game situations.
