Around SBN: How A Letter From Tom Coughlin Helped One Fan's Recovery

GT F Zach Peacock: "I feel like if we don't turn the ball over as much and execute and just pound it inside -- I mean, pound it inside -- it'll be another 'W' on our schedule."

GT F Gani Lawal: "We want to flex our muscle everytime, and that's what we're going to do tomorrow: Inside-out; inside-out. Pound it inside. We feel they can't stop us. Not to be cocky or anything, but that's just a fact -- they can't stop us down low."

You can’t fault them for having confidence, but it takes more than just “pounding it inside” to win a game like this. They have an advantage on the inside, no question—but we have some advantages that I don’t think they have an answer for either. One is called Vasquez

Regardless of what happens tonight, Georgia Tech has been a disappointment this year and Lawal and Favors are gone next year. I just find it hilarious that they happen to be the cockiest 7-9 team I’ve ever seen. Lawal has never beaten us. I’m not saying they can’t beat us tonight but I just think all of the talk is unnecessary.

Well he is somewhat right...

This is officially the postseason and teams are going to really attck your weakness. Lawal didn’t have that great of a game last time, but Favors did. Now if Lawal decide not to sleepwalk up and down the court and actually get involved in teh game this time around then we have a problem. We are also expected to come out flat due to the long break. I’m still conifdent that we will win this game and if we don’t its not the end of the world. We are still dancing. If GATECH want to win though, the pounding of the rock inside is a given, but they will have to make those 3s once again. Without those then i think we should win. Remember these guys were one missed shot away from beating us at home so don’t think they can’t beat us on a neutral court.

Good catch posting those quotes. You guys do a good job.

Maybe tonight we see Williams, Milbourne and Gregory on the court at the same time?

Im sure our team could care less about what lawal says. I cant remember the last time he had a good game against us. I really think Jwill has grown since he started taking it to trevor booker in the clemson game. It seemed that he was no not going to back down to anyone. He also proved it against duke as well.

Duke's road

So VTech lays and egg vs. Miami and now has to sweat it out on Selection Sunday.

Duke will have faced the 9 & 12 seeds when they get to the Championship Game, Sunday. WTF!

Seeding is everything, I guess…

I don't think VT "layed an egg"

You may have noticed that Miami beat WF by 21 yesterday. They look like a different team for some reason with Collins out. They have young, talented guards and a 6’10 300 pound mammoth (Reggie Johnson) who apparently has realized he can use his size as an advantage. I would actually not want to play them right now.

I also don’t think VT will really “sweat it out”. I’m sure they’ll be a little nervous, but given the lack of respectable at-large candidates, a 10-win ACC team is not going to be left out.

ohh he is going to eat those words after tonight.

VT Strength of schedule: 162.

Basically, they have 10 wins this year. I think they get in, but they are no lock. And really, SHOULD you get in by playing a non out-of-conference schedule? Personlly, I don’t think so. VT is certainly garnering a lot of negative attention on all of the tournament coverage today with former Maryland great Adrian Branch mocking Greenberg and the Hookies and Big 10 commentators making a case for Illinois over VT. If they don’t get in, I would guess the Hookies will play some actual basketball teams next year instead of inflating their record by playing inferior competition. The selection committee would be making a strong statement by denying VT a berth..
