Franklin a Top 25 Recruiter according to Rivals
Take it for what its worth, but I was honestly amazed that they pulled in the class they did.
JAMES FRANKLIN, MARYLAND
Buzz: Franklin had a hand in 10 commitments for Maryland, and he did a great job keeping local talent at home. He flipped linebacker Javarie Johnson back to Maryland from Miami, and he pulled in four-stars Titus Till and Nathaniel Clarke. Franklin also brought in quarterback Tyler Smith from Pennsylvania and helped Maryland hold onto prep school standout David Mackall. Franklin remains Maryland's best recruiter, and he's one of the best in the ACC. He pulled in an amazing haul for a 2-10 team.
Also for what its worth-had beers with some Under Armor guys who were talking about what a great guy Mike Leach is and how great a coach at MD he would be. Not suprisingly coach Leach makes his way to Locust Point from time to time and the consesus was "tremendous coach, even better guy".

If we get Leach
we won’t need Franklin. We won’t need to work for recruits if Leach is at the helm. They will flock to Maryland, at least for the first few years.

The more I see Franklin, the less I think this is true
Frank has done really well in state recently. Leach has the big name, but he’s coming into an area he doesn’t recruit that’s probably pissed that the one guy they really liked on the MD staff got fired. I don’t know how coaches/recruits will respond.

Just for clarification
I used to think the same thing, and still think that it would be true to some extent, but there would be some negative ramifications.
