Since there is a lot of discussion going on and since it's occurring on multiple stories, here is a place we can all discuss the Press Conference, slated to start at 3:00. You can watch it here.
To get the conversation going (and entertain everyone until 3:00), here is the first I've seen directly from the mouth of Leach himself.
"I would talk to Maryland, and I would look at it and see what their goals and objectives are."
"A lot of rumors going around. I haven't talked to anybody at Maryland."
I think MD has had talks with him (at least Kevin Plank) and he's just being respectful to Ralph. But if they really haven't talked to Leach already and they don't lock him in, this whole event could be a legitimate disaster.
So let's get the talk going!

He said it was possible that a coach could be hired before the bowl game. If Leach was already a done deal I don’t know why they would wait.

Allows Ralph to coach the last game and clear out his stuff. Then gives the new coach a month to get recruiting straightened out.

I already posted on another thread, but a Tech fan here wishing you the best…Leach is awesome, and as long as he stays true to himself, you just got yourselves another Terp fan.
And by the way, if the fans/students get into the pirate stuff at much as we did at Tech, you are in for some good times…

We’re already boosting our fan base and interest. I love it. I enjoyed watching TT football when Leach was coach.
not even kidding about this...
a group of my tech friends are already out on the web looking for Maryland gear. I’m happily on the leach/turtle bandwagon, and will follow the pirate closely.

i knew i liked Kev Anderson when he was hired
guys got some stones, and he wants to take the program to the next level. thats all I can ask from an AD.
Right now every coach will coach in the bowl game except for Franklin

word is that Leach abruptly left his radio show to catch a flight according to Pete Christy on Twitter. Pete is the Sports Director for KCBD in Lubbock and is a good guy.

Anderson promised that the buyout would come from Athletic Department revenues and that not $1 of taxpayer money would be used for it. I think Loh was just expressing that he does not know the budget details for the Athletic Department. (If I had to guess, I’d say they’re using the savings from Franklin leaving, donations from alumni, and a hefty sum from Kevin Plank)

Talking football
Maryland doesn’t really have a true rival. West Virginia would probably be number won for us, followed by Virginia and Virginia Tech. Problem is WV sees Pitt as its main rival and we don’t even play them every year. Again with Virginia and Virginia Tech, they see each other as the primary rival. We’re more of a secondary rival. Navy used to be a rival, but we no longer play yearly. Though that may change in the future.
As far basketball, all you need to know is Duke. See video below.
We hate
WVU. Secondary hates include UVA, Virginia Tech and of course Duke.
After we score there is this chant that goes along with the theme of Rock and Roll Part 2.
