8-4 feels about right for this team.

There's an old adage I keep hearing that goes something like "You're not as bad as your record." followed by "You're never as good as your record."

Maybe it's just me, but when I look at the body of work for this team, 8-4, and 5-3 in the ACC seems about right. The current make up of the ACC has never been a power football conference. With a freshman QB, a patchwork offensive line, a WR group that doesn't always show up, an inconsistent defense, the team went 6-4 against the non-cupcake part of the schedule. I think that's right about where Maryland should be.

Now if you had said to me at the beginning of the season, the Terps would get anywhere north of 4 wins, I would have said "sign me up."  But  there weren't any real head scratching loses, or eye opening wins. To paraphrase Mr. Parcells, this team is exactly what their record says they are. This is an 8-4 team, it was a good season.

Having said all that, I'm still a proponent of finding a new head coach...I just want to wait until after Danny O'Brien graduates, no sense in muddling him up learning different offensive schemes.
