Is Sterling Gibbs being overlooked?  I think so in many ways.

Sterling comes from a good basketball pedigree with his older brother Ashton Gibbs leading the way at Pitt.  It has been stated the Sterling has better physical attributes then Ashton and a higher basketball IQ.  If that holds true and Sterling is to be better and smarter then big brother I believe MD did a great job finding another recruit flying under the radar.

But his ability to play basketball is not the only thing being overlooked or undervalued.  Since the end of the summer and beginning of fall with recruits starting and continuing to visit College Park there seems to be a constant in each visit, that is Sterling Gibbs.

When O'Bryant and Faust first visited it was Sterling Gibbs by there side.  When Faust and Lewis visited for Maryland Madness it was Sterling Gibbs by there side.  With the Space visit upcoming it's Gibbs going to visit with him.  I think our best recruiter so far has been Sterling Gibbs, though we didnt land O'Bryant the positive feedback he gave about his visit is a compliment to fans and Gibbs himself selling what MD has to offer.  Hopefully Faust makes the announcement that we all are anticipating and I believe Mr. Gibbs should be given a job well done for his contributions on visiting multiple times when Faust has been on campus.

If his basketball career does not amount to a long NBA career, I think Mr. Gibbs should consider coaching since he seems to be one hell of a recruiter.
