I know this isn't really a big deal or noteworthy, but I thought it was cool.
Mark "The Shark" Titus, the most famous former walk-on in the country probably, and author of one of the best blogs on the internet clubtrillion.com, is writing previews for each college bball conference from the perspectives of the walk-ons in that conference. The last one he did was on the ACC--> http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/preview2010/insider/news/story?id=5707328
Although he doesn't really mention Maryland all that much in the article, he does give us mad props in the comments.
shark- the best students section the ACC is BY FAR maryland. cameron is too small to make the amount of noise that comcast does, and they hand out cheer sheets, which is super lame. terps dont need cheer sheets to get into a game. check out the video from the duke game at comcast last year and tell me that you have ever heard a louder or more involved student section. last year, the terps won ever acc game at home (besides duke and georgia tech) by at least 10 pts and an average of 15-20

I agree with you, which is why I found a way to work in the Maryland shout-out. Scheyer Face is the single greatest student section contribution to college basketball ever, and that alone makes Maryland my favorite ACC student section.
The walk-ons were the ones who picked Duke. My hands were tied. Sorry.
