Around SBN: Chan Sung Jung Wins Thriller Over Dustin Poirier

Lightly translated, for those that don't speak Twitterese:

"[To Nolan Smith] Thanks Nolan! Yeah, Pe'Shon is puttin' in work. He will be the ACC Freshman of the Year next year. Bet on it."

Well then.

Oh, and if you've never seen Stein in action, I wouldn't bet against him. Not only is he one of the best in the business, he is also an expert at making angry speeches.

Hyperbole

This guy coaches Tross and Hairston who are a ranked way higher than Howard. Hairston going to Dook and Tross could unfortunately join him but do you think Stein is saying Howard is going to outperform those two guys, Harrison Barnes and Kyrie Irving? He was probably just saying Howard is a nice player who is putting in some hard work but with some hyperbole

Howard

Did anyone listen to ESPNU Recruiting Insider this past Wednesday night? The main topic was Howard and UMD recruiting. I am an ESPN insider but idk where to find the podcast for this. Help.

I'm not sure that didn't mean next week

When Tobias was on, they put it there a week ahead of time, confusing the hell out of everyone.

Sadly, it’s not a podcast, it’s a TV show. I can’t find it online at any of the usual suspects.

Moses Abraham

Anyone heard of him? 6’9’’ C from MD. Apparently has been in the US for less than a month.

Yes. MD is recruiting him, but so are other schools. If I had to guess, I would say he is a CT lean.

A disproportianate amount of foreigners end up in Storrs

Majok and Thabeet are the two biggest name stars from Africa, and both ended up in CT. For that reason alone, you may be right.

Also, he’s playing for DCA, not a good thing. I mean, he doesn’t have a long-standing relationship, but Curtis Malone has never liked MD, and I don’t like our chances with any recruit with him as coach.

Other than that, long and athletic. Likely very raw, too. Quite possibly the prerequisite transcript issues that many foreigners have. How quickly he develops and adjusts may determine how high-level he goes.

Curtis Malone

Doesnt he have a criminal record? I saw him give an interview once and I thought to myself “How dumb can someone be?”

Places have Moses listed as considering UMD.

Oh, yeah, he's considering us

I’m just not feeling the Malone connect.

Isn’t he on the adidas board of directors too? And yeah, he’s a former coke dealer.
