My Take

Well, I hope you guys like this an I'll try and keep my grammar under control this time.

Star-divide

Ok, here's the deal: I've been thinking about the T-Ross decommitment for a while now and i have come up with some solutions, some you may like, some you may not like. I've been to some research on some of he players we are recruiting for the rest of the 2010 class. Some of them are really good, some ok, but some of them seem to fit the needs that maryland has more than T- Ross, Now, don't get me wrong I would love to have T- Ross, but just think about these things, I've spent a lot of time on this.

Option 1: Pe'shon Howard: ESPN's take: They say Howard can be productive as a 1 or a 2 guard, which is good because he could play alongside Stoglin and Parker. They say he is Oak Hill's best perimeter defender, and if you've been watching Maryland lately, they need help there. It also says he is a good defender and he will be an excellent guard at the next level. Oh ya, and he plays for Oak Hill.

My take: Good news, cause it sounds like he is a kid we can land and it looks like he will see a rise in the rankings. He would fit right in here too.

Option 2: C.J. Leslie: We already know about him so I will just skip the analysis here. This is probably everyone's favorite option including mine. I would scream for joy if we land him.

Option 3: Bryon Allen: ESPN's take: They say Allen is as tough as nails, but he is more of a pure point guard. they say he is an OK shooter, but he can get to the lane and is a great passer, ( Adrian Bowie). A few problems though, they say he may stay a post grad year and that he has conditioning problems.

My take: He would be OK but I don't really want him. The whole pure point guard thing isn't to good either.

Option 4: Roscoe Smith or Justin Coleman: Both are very unlikely to let us back in the hunt, especially Smith, but you never know. Justin was said to favor Maryland until they filled there guard needs but now their back open, so you never know.

Option 5: Jonathan Graham: In my opinion he would be Braxton Dupree Version 2.0. Don't really want him, but it wouldn't hurt to have him if we can't get anyone else.

Option 6: Terrence Ross: Well, it might seem unlikely for him to come here after decommitting, but you never know. Would love to have him and would welcome him back. Hopefully he makes the right choice and signs with Maryland.

Option 7: Maybe some fringe players show up or something. Or maybe we get Sterling Gibbs and we could pull an Andre Dawkins and he could come a year early, but that's probably not going to happen. There are also a lot of players that are still considering and Maryland could get in it with any on them so we'll have to see what happens within the next few months.

Well, that's my opinion on this whole thing. What two options are your favorite? I know mine, option's 6 and 2. I hope you liked the post and I want to hear your opinions on it too, so please comment on what you think.

Thoughts on just a couple

PeShon: I’d love to land him. It’s not like we don’t have the scholarship room, and we’ll be amazingly thin at PG next year. He provides flexibility, more outside shooting, and good court sense. He could spell Stogs and the two could be on the floor at the same time.

Oh, yeah, he might actually want to go to Maryland. That’s a plus. He’s far from a stud, but he’s good. Get him now instead of a random JUCO later.

Bryon Allen: Little random. Not sure he’s high-major level.

Roscoe/Coleman: If we want to, we can get back in. I get the feel Roscoe really doesn’t want to go to Duke (slighted again) and that if Maryland wants back in they can get back in. Ditto for Coleman, who did really like MD. The problem there is academics. I remember reading something on Rivals or Scout that Coleman would have to go JUCO or CC for grades, and Roscoe may not happen for academics (couldn’t get into Maryland, but UCONN’s not a problem). Hope one of them can get their grades up.

Personally, I would really like to land Roscoe. Don’t think it’s going to happen.
