"We as a family, if we feel extremely comfortable with a particular school, after the home visits we may make a a decision.

"We already know all the schools."

...

"Bruce Pearl [of] Tennessee, he works with point forwards, Bobby Huggins works with point forwards. Maryland worked with Walt Williams. Paul Hewitt, everybody's got something."

He added: "It's going to come down to what school is going to be honest about letting Tobias be a point forward. Don't be surprised if a decision may be made after the home visits."

Via Zags.

This is very positive for a number of reasons. First, if he's deciding after in-homes, that means he won't take any OVs. That means the last school he visited was Maryland, and that can only be a good thing.

Second, it's good he realizes that Maryland has a history of the point forward with Walt Williams, and I'm kind of shocked that his Maryland basketball history is that good.

Third, if he wants to play point forward, that would allow Terrell Stoglin to play off the ball at times. I have no doubts about Stog's ability to be a lead guard, but he seems to be a combo guard at heart. He could benefit from being allowed to play off the ball at times.

This get would be Huge!

But i’m still not sure, if we land Tobias do we still have another scholly left?

Depends on what happens with Jerome Burney

If he gets healthy and plays, then Tobias Harris would take our last scholarship.

If he is ruled unable to play by a doctor, then the thinking is that he’d get a medical hardship exception, which means he’d be allowed to still have a scholarship and finish out his academic career, but not be allowed to play or count against Maryland’s scholly count. If that’s the case, Maryland would have another scholarship to work with.

Right now, scenario #2 seems more likely.

WoW!

If Jerome dosn’t play, then this could be MD’s greatest class of all time!

Don't knock Jerome...

If he is healthy and plays this season (even though that’s doubtful), he’s shown signs of being a good forward of the bench.
