We'd like to compete for the ACC championship. I think we can be that good. Now, we're going to have to work to prove we can be that good. But we'll be picked, I'd say, in the top four preseason. We have all five guards returning, and with Vasquez back, he'll arguably the best guard returning in the ACC.

What a great statement for all Maryland fans
It also can’t hurt recruiting. We need Terrence et al to know that we want them come here to be on a championsip team. This year we’re going for the ACC. How far we go the following years is up to them.
I think Maryland fans just want an excuse to go crazy for this team too. We seem like we’ve been wandering in the wilderness. The program seemed to be in a funk ( sorry Fred and congratulations on the US Senior) too. Even the loss of an assistant seemed to be a crisis for us rather than an opportunity to bring in some new up and comer with some fresh ideas. I thought the low point was the hiring of Lonergan. He is a capable coach but poor recruitment was killing us and he didn’t add anything. Now we have Booth, Driesell and Ehsan going coast to coast. The future really looks good.
