Cincinnati signee Lance Stephenson pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct Friday, effectively ending the sexual assault case that plagued the McDonald All-American's recruitment and reputation.
Stephenson was accused of groping a 17-year-old girl during an incident last October and was facing up to six months in jail on the misdemeanor sexual assault charge. But with the plea, he will now be asked to perform just three days of community service and undergo counseling, according to the New York Daily News .
And the BR Saga is now officially over. Shame that we decided to turn him away, especially because this was obviously not an issue, but I'm over it and past it.

Not an issue?
I guess I reacted a little differently when I read the news about Stephensen’s finally sorted out legal problems. The last thing Maryland needed is the publicity stating that one of our recruits pled out of a sexual assault case, I would much rather have it noted that we turned down that potentially great recruit because of his negative conduct issues – that’s the kind of program I would like to believe that Maryland is and thats how that kind of program handles itself.
