At long last, the Lance Stephenson sweepstakes is over and the talented Lincoln High School player is going to the Big East.

"They've decided. He's off to Cincinnati," said a source close to the family with direct knowledge of the decision. "It's a done deal. I am certain of this."

Zags has been wrong before - Kansas was a "done deal" several months ago. But You have to think this is probably true. I think Cincinnati was the only program willing to take a chance on Lance, so it was more of what program will chose Lance verses which program will Lance chose. Either way, I think I'd rather have Greivis back than have Lance, but it would have been nice to have both of them. But you have to wonder if Born Ready is a 1 year cancer that would have disrupted the chemistry of the Terps...

I would never wish anyone to fail,

unless you play for Duke, WV, Yankees, Red Sox, Steelers, Browns……you get the point, but i sure do hope that Lance dosnt carry the Bear cats past our Terps in the Tourny at the beginning of the season. That would blow, but good for him, everyone deserves a second chance.

So now we wait to see...

What the NCAA or the Courts have to say about his eligibility?

I must say that I’m surprised that a program like Cinci after being very close to the flame from Huggins’ tenure would take another step towards the heat by offering him…

But at this point I, like many of the rest of you, am numb to the saga and when any new BR data points roll in my typicall initial reaction is now “Hey, how ’bout that?”

Good luck Lance (excluding the tourney)…

PS—you think the Terps pulling interest might have played into his going towards Cincy based on the scheduling?

Screw Lance

We did everything to welcome him here and now I think he has no chance to shine. Have fun playing against shitty competition.

You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

Cincy plays in the Big East

I would not call that “shitty competition.”

Didn't he want to win a championship?

I thought Lance’s big thing was that he wanted to go to school for one year and have a shot at winning a title. But, by commiting to Cincy, Lance basically showed that he was out of options.

I watched Cincy play a few games last year, and they are nowhere near winning a title this year. They have a shot at a tourney berth, but in a league as tough as the Big Est has been the last few years, I would not be so sure about that.

I think this decision really shows that Born Ready was fresh out of options.
