Tracking the Terps: Chris Turner's "legacy"
Quarterback Chris Turner says he wants to leave a "legacy" at Maryland. He wants to be remembered -- to stand out. I hope Chris can do just that, but our O-Line is going to need to come together pretty fast. Too bad we lost Dey-Hey-Bey too...
McDonogh soccer standout Kansaye commits to Terps
Good news for Terps Men's Soccer. McDonogh soccer standout Mamadou Kansaye, who is set to play his fourth year on varsity this fall, has made an oral commitment to play at Maryland.
Terps Offer Felder
The Terps made another football offer recently, this time to Monroeville (PA) Gateway's WR/Back Brendon Felder. The article is a Scout Premium, but it appears Felder's offer list and stock is rising, so it would be nice if we beat out PSU and Pitt for a PA guy for once...
Terps Offer Friendship's Johnson \
Assistant head coach James Franklin offered 6'5" Earl Johnson a scholarship to play for the Terps. Johnson is only 245 pounds right now, so he'd have to bulk up a lot before playing. Not much info out there on this guy from Scouts or ESPN. We'll try to find more for you in the coming days...

A little math regarding Turner's legacy
This is all of course really irrelevant, but The Sun story got me interested, so I crunched some numbers…
Turner is currently Maryland’s #7 all-time QB in terms of career yards. He needs 694 more to match Scott McBrien for #3 — based on his career yards per game average, he’ll meet that after four additional games. Turner can take the #2 spot away from Boomer Esiason with 1,784 yards, he’s currently on track to do that in 10 games. If he really overachieves next year (this would require 220 ypg avg assuming no bowl game), 2,826 more yards will take the number-one spot from Scott Milanovich. Last year Turner threw for 2,516 yards in 13 (12.5 really) games.

Turner's legacy
Great stats. I hope he has a great senior year and gets the recognition he deserves.
There is also another positive side to Chis that won’t show up in that the stats. He is deceptively tough. I think he took about 30 sacks last year. Some were brutal like the spearing he took in the first half of the Clemson game. He just seemed to shake them off.
