I don’t like him at all. I don’t like the way he acts. The things he says and does … I don’t know that you want that on your team. If you’re going to draft a guy and invest a bunch of money in him, I’m not messing with him. I’ll take my chances on maybe a lesser talent. He’s not that good to have to put with that stuff. What has he done that sets him apart, other than talk a lot?

An NBA scout on Greivis Vasquez. Besides it not making any sense (he's worried about smack talking in the NBA?), I'm kind of glad that someone might say something along these lines to him and tell him to come back for a year. It's selfish, but I really want him back.

I really don’t want him back unless he changes. I agree 100% with teh scout’s assertions. I beleivbe that he does have talent, but needs to become a team player

Don't want GV Back???

I’ll respect your opinion but I can’t agree with you. This team will be without a go to scorer without Vazquez and will be mediocre at best. With GV we have someone who shoots, leads our team in assists (so the team player piece you mention doesn’t make sense to me) and can take some of the pressure off Padgett and Williams in the middle to open it up for them in their first year in the ACC. Hayes comes open and cans the 3’s for us…just name it. The team is better w/ Vaz.

As to his antics, please…doesn’t anyone remember that Rodman was a circus act on the hardwood prior to being on Celebrity Apprentice?? Vazquez has heart and tries in every aspect of his game and teams should have more people like this expecially in a lead role. There is a reason MD made the 2nd round of the NCAA’s considering the talent we had…HEART…and they took a lot of their lead from him.

So w/ all due respect, I doubt you’ll find many here who don’t want him back.

"needs to become a team player?"

I disagree 117% Greivis is very much a team player. Yes, he demands the best from his teammates. Yes, he’ll make a bad pass every now and then. Yes, he tends to get very fiery to both his teammates and the crowd. But there is not a more passionate guy in college sports except maybe Tim Tebow. I love the fact that he plays how he does! I love the fact that he’s proud to put on the Maryland Terrapins jersey! But we Marylnd fans don’t understand how fortunate we are to have a guy like him! He was a couple assts, points, & rebs. from havin multiple triple doubles! The kid does it all!

So, in a nut shell, Be Grateful. The kid loves the University and wants more than anything to put Maryland basketball back on the map! And lets all face it, without Greivis Vasquez, that will not be accomplished next year!

Think about it man, no one matches Gary more perferct!

Ah, Jason King...

I’ll bet he interviewed 20 scouts before he got that “suitable” quote to put in about Vasquez. I can understand why some people think that way, but I’m fairly certain that is not the majority opinion of scouts. In fact, I would doubt the credentials of any scout who was that…unprofessional in their assessment of a player. It sounds like his entire beef is not liking GV’s personality.

After the piece he did on GW, full of misinformation, I’m convinced King has it out for our program, for whatever reason.
