Rivals Updates Rankings: Williams Sees Bump
I know, Rivals isn't the greatest for basketball (in fact, they're probably the worst of the big three), but they're the first of the three major services to update their final rankings. Unsurprisingly, Jordan Williams saw a pretty sizable jump up.
Williams used to be a three star prospect on Rivals, but was upped to a four star and is the #85 player overall (#25 PF). Terrell Vinson, by comparison, is currently #90.
I expect Williams to see a similar jump when Scout and ESPN update their rankings (I believe ESPN already updated the top tier, but not the lower levels). He really exploded his senior year. It looks like the Terps are getting a great baller. FWIW, he is currently not qualified, so there's always some chance for heartbreak, but it's supposedly looking pretty good.
Regardless of whether the Terps bring in Vinson, the class is shaping up to be pretty good. Like most Terp fans, I've given up on Lance, but if GV stays and the freshmen work out, it could be a very good season next year.

I object!
let’s not settle for a “pretty good” recruiting class! Let’s go out and get at least a “really good” recruiting class. Just the make words make a huge difference for me mentally. lol
But i’m still very worried about GV leavin, i cant help but think that without him runnin the O we are going to see a lot more of those 5-6 min. scoring droubts. Hopefully Cliff and Adrian are shooting jumpers all day every day because if thats the cse, we’ll be relying on them much more than i’m comfortable with.
Adrian shooting jumpers
Please dear god no. Love the kid’s ability to penetrate and he’s by far the best on the team in transition, but his shot can be pretty ugly. If we’re relying on him to hit jumpers it’ll be a scary season.
lol! I didn't mean rely on his jump shot.
I meant that his jumper has some improving to do if he’s going to have to be one of the scorers. lol I would NEVER suggest he start pullin 3’s! But if his jumper dosen’t improve, defenders wont respect his jumper therefore cut off the driving lanes.

let's get real though
what basketball player doesn’t work on their jump shot
some things people just do well, and some things people just don’t…facts of life
i started shooting hoops for an hour a day most days of the work week the last couple months…i’m still no better than a 50 percent shooter from the line…things take time, and thousands of repetitions…but mostly just time…doing repetitions of the WRONG thing doesn’t help…

50% from the line? Thats Atrocious!
On some Shaq type stuff. Bend your knees bro, the rim is only 10 feet away LOL!

Tiim bro...you gotta break 60% at LEAST
2 months of work for 50 means it’s time to take the air out of the ball…
my hope is that like dj
by the time he is a senior he can make you pay if you just forget about him behind the arc

Yes, exactly...
I also think Tucker needs to find a way to not let his mechanics get out of whack. When he’s on, he looks good, but when he’s off…my goodness did he put up some hideous jump shots late in the year.
The guy who I really think is a dark horse as a shooter is Mosley. He was a very nice midrange shooter and a decent 3p shooter in HS (and from reports, in MD practices this year). For whatever reason it just hasn’t translated at gametime yet. But in my mind, if GV leaves, Mosley is going to emerge as our top scoring threat in the backcourt.

listen, i'm a Baltimore homer. I want every player for MD to be from B-more!
BUT, “Mosley being our top scoring threat in the backcourt” is a Big problem! Sean is noticed for the intangables not Dominating on the Offensive end!
If he infact is our leading scorer, we will be in ALOT of trouble! I Personally believe that if Vaz leaves, Landon will become our go-to guy.

He did some serious scoring in HS
Didn’t he set the Maryland state record for HS scoring? The points will come, it’s just a matter of time.
I believe he did :-)
But i’m having a hard time seeing his scoring take such an immediate jump from mediocrity to “leading scorer.” Sorry bro, but until i see the kid drop buckets, or for that matter score double digits on a regular basis, i’m not going to do any cartwheels over him leadin our team in scoring!
And with that said, i am in no way knocking the kid, but i recall several point blank buckets that he completely missed. .. . . . .. .i know, Freshman, but i just have to see it before i believe it.
