Palm at CBS has 8 Big Ten teams...6 ACC teams

So I guess someone needs to tell Jerry Palm that the Big Ten sucks, and get's throttled every year in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

How on earth can you justify putting 8 Big Ten teams into the tournament and only 6 from the ACC.

This underscores a larger frustration I have with the selection process.  Because the ACC is such a tough league, ACC teams beat up on each other all year and good ACC teams get left out of the tournament just because they are in a conference with better ACC teams.

You can't tell me that Maryland is not better than Penn State, Minnesota, etc.

You also cannot tell me that a team like Creighton who lost by 20 points to Illinois State would go .500 in the ACC.  Not even close.

Or how about San Diego State, who already has 8 losses on the year.  How on earth would an 8 loss team from, well whatever conference it is that they play in, fair in the ACC?  They certainly wouldn't go 7-9.  Again, not even close.

Unlike other conferences, the ACC has no cupcakes.  Even Georgia Tech, the league's worst was pre-season top 25 and has the talent on the floor  to beat anyone in the country.  Hell I'd rather play in the Big East and see Saint Johns, Depaul, Seton Hall, South Florida etc.

Top to bottom, there are no easy games in the ACC.  The selection commitee needs to realize that.  7-9 in the ACC shouldn't be a lock, and I'm not saying the Terps should be in.  I'm just saying let's be realistic about who is better than Maryland, because San Diego State, Creighton and a lot of teams from the Big Ten who Palm has in are certainly not better than the Terps (at least on paper).
