PrintIt looks like we'll find out today for sure but it seems Dino will be back on 12/12. If this is true, it will be a relief to have him only be out for another few weeks but we'll sure miss him at the Maui Invitational and playing Nova. Hope he's ready to go when he comes back because our frontcourt is a little short at the moment......

It’s all but official as far as I understand. Interesting thing about this is that most MD fans are relieved that he’s coming back in December (since there was talk that he was out all year)…but it sounds like behind the scenes this was actually the worst case scenario. From the insidemdsports forum, people are saying there was some conflict between Gregory and the board that he went in front of, and ultimately they — in the opinion of some — abused their authority to make sure he would miss the all-expense-paid trip to Hawaii.
Cheated
I heard that Gregory may have cheated on a test. I think we’re lucky to have him back so soon if the reports are true.
Sure, at some point he did something stupid – I’m not sure if it was clearly cheating or more of a gray area. But “insiders” are saying that the punishments being discussed included Dec 12 as the WORST CASE scenario. So, we may be “lucky” to get him back, but to him it may seem like he got screwed. If the reports are true. Either way, I hope Goins is healthy and ready to contribute in Maui – that would take some of the burden off the freshmen.
Clean
Gary runs a clean program, so any punishment he thought was fit I support. Even if it wasn’t Gary making the decision, he clearly violated a rule, and should be punished for it. We’re not UF where we suspend a player for one half of a game after he gouges out the eye of someone else. If you make a mistake, you live up to the consequences. That being said, I can’t wait to have him back either. We need that front-court depth.
I appreciate your loyalty to GW, which I share…but as was already said, this did not involve him at all. IMO, you shouldn’t be so quick to make pejorative statements about “living up to the consequences” of something when you don’t even know who was involved in making that decision.
But yes, we can agree that it’s good to get Dino back in December.

After watching the Maui Classic
We need Dino Gregory back badly! It’s been a very good learning experience for the young freshman big men, but we need to throw in more big bodies against teams like we played to have a chance. After a terrible football season, we need the basketball team to get Terp nation out of this gutter and not be a hangover from the football team. Honestly, I think they have a chance to make some noise if they can get Gregory back. Throwing these freshmen in the fire will be a great asset later in the season. That being said, we need to beat Indiana by 15 and we will all feel good again. One game at a time!
