Pankey a Terp
It's official - Pankey committed to the Terps this afternoon. Good get for Gary. Now we just need to land Harris and we'll be set with a top 10 class. We'll have more up on Pankey later today.

i love this class
Stoglin, Parker, Ross, and now Pankey? We’ve already gotten a point guard, a shooting guard, a small forward, and now a power forward, and we still have a shot at landing one of the best recruits in the country. this class is already very good, but if Gary lands Tobias, this might be the stronged 2010 class in the country.

It won’t be the strongest in the Country (Memphis, Ohio State, and NC seem to be the top 3, but it will certainly be an amazing class).

Memphis + OSU will top on pure talent
But neither of them have Gary.
The thing is, it’s been forever since Maryland’s had a really good recruiting class, and the last one was full of busts (Mike Jones, anyone?). Gary can be competitive – nay, natty-level – with an above average class. If all these guys turn out, this will be a very dangerous team.

Next year I believe we only lose Hayes, Vasquez, and Milbourne, right? So how is it possible that we can bring in five freshman?

We have the Burney and Dupree scholarships still to give (one is open and I believe Pearlman is using the other)

Thanks. Also,
can anyone here tell me why Maryland was the only major school to recruit Pankey? Looks like all the schools were fairly small that he was considering aside from us (Drexel, Hofstra, etc.)

Miami, WVU, Penn State offered
George Mason and SJU, too. Pitt and UCONN showed interest.
