Maryland Minute 11.12.09 - Stoglin Signing Early

Stoglin to Sign in Early Period

Plus some notes on Terrell - he's been to the Arizona championship all 3 years, and lost all 3 times. That's rough. - Ben Broman

Ashton Pankey Mini-Update

From Zags:

"It was great," he said. "I liked the overall atmosphere of the school. I made some friends on the team. The coaches did a great job of showing me and my mother the campus. They took us to the football stadium. They took me to the business school because I told them I wanted to major in business."

Hurley said Pankey wanted to take a second visit so he had something to compare Maryland with.

"He really liked Maryland and I know he wants to be able to compare Maryland to another school," Hurley said.

5 Questions Facing the Terps this Season

Jeff Barker has a nice preview of Gary and Co. including five key questions facing the team. Definitely worth the quick read.

Star-divide

MaxPreps: Maryland's 2010 Class at #10

Pankey will account for at least a one or two spot bump, if not more. Throw in Tobas Harris and its top 5. - Ben Broman

Turner "Doubtful" for Saturday

I guess we know who's starting this week.

Dinich Predicts..

A 17-14 VT victory. Here's what she had to say:

"Regardless of who starts at quarterback for Maryland -- injured starter Chris Turner or backup Jamarr Robinson -- the Terps will keep this game interesting. The defense will blitz and put pressure on Tyrod Taylor, and it’s not as if the Hokies’ offense has been prolific the past few weeks. But the Hokies have more overall talent and experience, and it will show."

Would you take a 17-14 loss on Saturday?

She also gives us a reason to watch on Saturday

Torrey Smith. He's 250 yards away from setting the ACC single-season mark for all-purpose yards.

James Franklin is Raking in the Dough

He's the second highest paid assistant in the ACC and the seventh highest paid assistant in all of college football. Not bad for a guy who's offense is ranked 99th out of 120 Division 1 teams.

Dara Taylor Filling In for Kristi Toliver Nicely

This team will miss Marissa Coleman more than Kristi Toliver. Calling it. - Ben Broman

My Take: Agreed.
