Hippo moment at the scrimmage
I too went to the scrimmage today and also saw some encouraging things. After the scrimmage was over I saw Hippo walking back to the locker room with an assistant and I made eye contact with him and asked, "Have you committed yet?". He looked at me with a huge smile and said, "It's in process right now". He had a smile on his face the during the whole scrimmage and seemed to be really enjoying himself.
I also saw Dino Gregory's little brother who looks to be about 6'8". I haven't heard of him - is he on the radar? Each of the MD coaches - including Gary Williams - made a point of walking up to him to say hello. He is a big kid but looks a little goofy. Does anyone know his story or how good he is?

For real?
You actually asked him that? And that is exactly what he said? You swear on you grandma’s tomb?
Just as I said it earlier
I promise. I saw him wearing an Albany City sweatshirt so I went down to see who he was talking to. He was with one of the Maryland staff (not a coach, but someone definitely working as part of Gary’s staff) and they were walking under the overpass to the locker room. They stopped to talk to other players and I looked at him and made eye-contact. Then I asked, “have you committed yet?”. He gave a huge smile and said, “Its in process right now”. Obviously that doesn’t mean that he’s an automatic lock, but energy and countenance when I asked him the question were very positive. He could be thinking something else, but everything I witnessed signaled a very positive feeling toward the Terps.
Oh, and Dino's bro
His brother is Dariel Gregory, he’s 14. No idea if he can play, but he’s big for his size; being 14, I’m guessing he’s a freshman, so he’d be class of 2013…if he’s a prospect, it’s way early to start that process, so it’s tough to guess where he stands. The goofiness could be explained by the fact that he’s 6-8 at 14 years old.
He was there last time too.
If you looked at his knee there was a huge scar as if he had an ACL tear and needed surgery.
He also was out of shape so I dont think he’ll be playing bball or an sport at UMD.
Hippo Sighting
I was walking down route 1 at 1:30 AM and Mychal and Hippo were sitting in front of turtle with 2 of thier friends. I asked him if he is going to commit and he said I am thinking about it. I told Mychal the UMD fans are hungry for a title and he agreed.
