Maryland junior forward Jerome Burney won't play this season due to ongoing foot problems, the team announced in a news release. Williams said Burney will remain with the team and is on track to graduate with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in May.

I think that gives us another scholarship for 2010, since they say Burney will graduate in May. Maybe that explains why we've been going after a few more guys as of late...

Sorry to hear

This unfortunate. The fact that he wanted to play ball but never really got a chance to display his promise. Im glad he still gets to travel with the team an get his degree. Yes it possibly may open up another scholly, however i dont wish pain on anyone. and yes it prolly does explain why their recruiting list still has some substantial talent and interested players. hopefully we can get a couple of gud players for 2010 if hes graduating.

Yeah, that's terrible

Very bad for Jerome. He was a great kid and could’ve been a major contender. Sad to see.

For those wondering, it does open up another scholly, the Terps have five total, two more that are open.
