Basketball Season is almost here...

In just over 30 hours, we'll be kicking off the 2009 college basketball season and I must say, I couldn't be happier (well, I'd be happier if it was happening at midnight and not 7, but blame the NCAA for changing their rules for more TV ratings). Its good to be a solid top 25 team to start the season. Here at Testudotimes, we're gearing up for basketball season and will soon have some nice season previews for you in the coming weeks and hopefully a few surprises along the way as well. But before all of that happens we want to hear from you, our fellow fans - what are you most looking forward to for this upcoming basketball season? A nice senior class of Vasquez, Hayes and Milbourne? A re-energized Gary Williams? Some much needed frontcourt freshmen help? A wide open ACC? Let us know what you're most looking forward to and if there is anything you'd like to see us do in the coming weeks. Afterall, we are Maryland's best sports blog, so we aim to please our audience. Can't wait for that first practice tomorrow!

Freshmen

I’m really excited about the freshmen big men. I hope they get solid minutes early, because I want to see what Vasquez and the rest can do with a real-deal big man. And I mean absolutely no disrespect to Dave Neal

Big Freshmen

Looking forward to having an outside AND inside game for once. It remains to be seen how good Padge and JW will be in the ACC, but if they can rebound and clean up inside, it’ll open so many doors for our shooters….I’m salivating at this prospect

the progression of our role players

I am really looking forward to see how much our guys have improved in the offseason. Has Sean Mosley developed into a primetime player? Has Dino Gregory developed into an offensive weapon? (Okay, maybe I’m dreaming.) Can Adrian Bowie shoot yet? Is Cliff Tucker going to become a more consistent force? Will Eric Hayes be able to start this season without the horrible shooting slump that plagued him the majority of last season? I really hope so. I just can’t wait to see who is going to step up for this team alongside Greivis.
